Test results

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • in your SystmOnline account
  • by phoning us on Macklin Street Surgery 01332 340381 or Park Farm Surgery 01332 551021 after 11am, this helps to keep the lines free for patients who need appointments

Reception staff are able to provide information regarding practice procedure and the results of tests, but are not able to offer medical opinions. If your results are normal or acceptable due to your medical condition, we will not contact you with your results. If your results are abnormal the surgery will contact you to discuss them.

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
