New Patient Registration
The doctors welcome new patients who live within our practice area.
Anyone in England can register with a GP surgery to access NHS services. It’s free to register. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or and NHS number.
At Macklin Street Surgery we are proud of our “Safe Surgery” status, working closely with the Doctors of the World Organisation we commit to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare. Macklin Street Surgery have taken concrete steps, both at reception and in consultations, to improve equity of access to our services.
At Macklin Street Surgery we do not insist on proof of address documents, we do not insist on proof of identification and will never ask to see a visa or proof of immigration status.
You may be asked to show something with your name on if we need to confirm the spelling of your name – this is only to ensure we register you correctly.
As it often takes some time for records to be forwarded from your former practice all newly registered patients will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and are offered an appointment with a Health Care Assistant.
Medical treatment is available from the date of registration. Please contact reception for further information.
