We have taken a clinical decision not to open our branch surgery at Park Farm on 19th July. This will give us time to further assess the impact to the safety of staff and patients.
This message explains our reasons.
We note that all lockdown restrictions are scheduled to lift on 19th July. We know our patients are looking forward to our Park Farm Surgery branch reopening. We also know that the numbers of COVID cases and hospitalisations are rising.
Covid has also impacted our own surgery with several staff currently isolating due to household contact or actual infections.
Our Park Farm premises are too small with insufficient entrances and facilities for safe social distancing and our Allestree patient list has high numbers of elderly patients with long term conditions who are more at risk.
When the restrictions do lift, we will still be wearing masks. Please can our patients carry on wearing face coverings and stay at 1 metre+ social distancing when attending any of our surgery buildings.
Thank you for your continued understanding.
